Dear Sir or Madam:
I am a disabled combat veteran. My life revolves around the VA and their bureaucracy. The individuals I deal with in the VA system are decent folk, however the system is corrupted and byzantine. They charge me for my service connected disabilities. This is illegal. My fight with the VA has become worse since the Affordable Care Act. There is now a TWO YEAR waiting list to fix your issues. The processors of the individual packets are forced to shuffle your issues away as fast as they can. The easiest way to deal with a Veteran’s packet is to not even read it but to deny and move on.
In our case, our health care is subtracted directly from your retirement before you ever see it. In addition to, you must pay for your healthcare insurance, life insurance, and those of us who are really hurt are forced into medicare without choice.
This December, I will be forced into medicare, losing my blue cross in order to at least retain my Tri-Care. My freedom of choice has been removed.
This change also comes with a bill. I will be forced to pay up an additional $105.00 per month. As of right now after all the deductions my U.S. Army retirement is $304.00 per month.
Now, after this next round of healthcare costs, my retirement may as well be $199.00 per month.
Needless to say, I cut coupon.
Thank you for your time, may God Bless you all.
