My husband owns his own small business so we pay for our own insurance. We have chosen a “catastrophic” plan with a high deductible and pay out of pocket for most everything. Even that is pretty expensive. Not long after Obamacare went into effect, we received a letter from our carrier telling us that our rates were going up by 22%! We hadn’t changed anything or done anything to explain the rate increase.
