We are all affected, at least indirectly, as more and more people are having their work hours cut, their employee-provided insurance dropped, their doctors retiring or simply not taking new patients. My own personal physician takes no new patients and has reduced her office hours to only one day a week. My rheumatologist so far has stuck with his office schedule, but now provides me with handfuls of paper documenting my treatment while he enters long paragraphs of information into his laptop. I understand that this personal information will eventually make its way into IRS files to be mishandled and/or disseminated in error. We’ve already seen examples of this! Just what we all wanted and needed: this inefficient, obstructive, intrusive government to have access to all our personal information! God bless you, Ted Cruz, for being the type of senator I wish I had been able to vote for. Instead, I am in the district of a career senator who bragged that he ‘wrote’ the ACA. Now he has announced that he plans to retire at the end of this term. Any connection, I wonder? And our other senator votes in lock-step with him and with the president. You may be unpopular with most of the other senators, but you’re the type of Republican my parents and grandparents voted for and I grew up with! There are a few real Repubs. in the House, also, but we need more. Lots more!
