It started in 2010 when ACA was announced. My company then decided to do away with supplemental medical coverage for all retirees on January 1st, 2014. I retired two years ago. I’m 63 and my wife is 62. I was paying $900 a month for both of us. Now, with ACA, for the same coverage I’ll be paying $2200 a month. That’s a third of my income. What’s up with that? Also, ACA says that my coverage won’t start until Jan 14, 2014, that leaves us without coverage for two weeks. When attempting to sign up for ACA, I spent 1.5 hours trying with out success. I tried again last week and the site still didn’t allow you to see a line by line break down of medical coverage, nor could you sign up online. I tried the online help and they told me to call the help phone number. I called the helpline and they couldn’t give me any particulars about coverage, only an approx. cost. They said I could sign up by phone or by mail. I chose by mail and I’m still waiting for the sign up package. OBAMACARE has to be repealed. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
