Under the plan with my employer we use to have to pay $30 a week, a $120 a month. Our deductible was $1,050 fo my entire family. After the deductible was met, the insurance paid 90% to my 10%. Under the ACA, my premium almost tripled for the month. The deductible dropped down to $500. But after the deductible is met The pay goes 80% to 20% for me. Even though the deductible is lower, my out of pocket is more than under my old plan before the insurance pays a dime. Considering I have to have blood work done before I see my doctor. The deductible is used up before my visit with him. That doesn’t evev include the other 3 doctors I have to see. My co-pay for visits went up from $25 to $35 a visit. Since I have averaged spending time in the hospital on avg at least 2 1/2 times a yr in the last 3 years. For a full week each time. That’s another $620 a week out of my pocket. That does not include the cost of any medication. That is just for me. I haven’t even figured in my wife or kids. Obamacare sure did help us out.
