As owners of small business, we care about our employees. Our perspective is seeking solutions to health care concerns.

As a cancer patient myself, I see quality care as worth fighting to maintain. I am a patient at MD Anderson Cancer Center. My needs,  as a business co-owner and as a cancer patient are best met when I have choice in purchasing my own private sector insurance and choose my own treatment center. I want that for all working people.

Since Affordable Care Act , which is proving to be unaffordable for working people, was voted into law, I have researched the system through reading and testimonials in the healthcare professions. I think that my cancer treatment cannot be put into a protocol box that fits. 65% of patients. This is the concept expected in the Law. And this concept does not allow for customized treatment.

Higher premiums and status quo medical practices are two primary reasons that I cannot avoid being fearful of this “Affordable Care Act.”

Private care  insurance and provider choices give me peace that I can search and find the best care for me. This reduces stress, which contributes to my well being. Stress reduction helps me fight my metastatic lung cancer.  By the way, I never smoked.

My thoughts are based on research, but I know in my heart that private insurance and free choice of care, are best for me, for employees, and for our Country. Senator Cruz, please fight to Defund Obamacare.
