My company of employment recently revamped their healthcare benefits to reflect guidelines set by obamacare and the plan I have always relied on for years that once cost me 255$ a month now costs me 435$ a month. I have 3 Children and a wife who works part time, and when your making just under 40,000$ a year, 180$ a month virtually disappearing from my income is a big slap in the face when budgetting our expenses. We’ve cut back to make up the cost by getting rid of digital cable and by taking collision insurance off of our vehicles, which puts us at risk if we are in an accident. We work hard to afford little luxuries like cable tv and reliable car insurance. So to have to make those cuts in order to afford my increasingly expensive healthcare (thanks to obamacare) is a slap in the face for us people who just want to have a decent middle class life. The American dream of prosperity is already so distant to so many of us Americans, this health law is just yet another brick wall between everyday people and their dreams of financial prosperity and good, healthy living for their families.
